About Us

Sophia Kang (She/Her/Hers) earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology with an emphasis Human Development at Vanguard University. She earned her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis of Marriage and Family Therapy at Azusa Pacific University.

​

She utilizes a person-centered approach and view the therapeutic relationship as an essential part of therapy. Her priority is to make sure that it is a right fit between her and the client. She also utilizes a blend of attachment-based interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma based interventions.

 

Outside of psychotherapy, Sophia has experience with special education settings, cross-cultural relationships, parenting, and individuals with autism.

 

Sophia specializes in trauma, attachment, foster/adoption, and parenting. Sophia is certified in Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Adoption and Permanency Curriculum, formerly known as Adoption Clinical Training (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Seeking Safety, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
